• Communications Project Manager

KLRU-TV, Austin PBS seeks a full-time Communications Project Manager to help create systems and processes to track and manage the planning and development of regular communications for the station and ensure key timelines are met. You will create reports about project successes and failures and make sure goals are met within budget. The Communications Project Manager will also help guide key annual projects, assist in the promotion and presentation of marketing and fundraising campaigns, KLRU programming, local productions and community events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain processes and systems to manage documentation and other project assets for a variety of ongoing as well as one-off projects.
Develop and monitor project timelines and milestones and give updates on status.
Manage content materials housed on shared drives.
Work collaboratively with Community Engagement and other staff to coordinate and communicate with colleagues to ensure the efficient flow of work.
Ensure the quality of all finished materials and data prior to distribution.
Draft summary reports on key initiatives.
Track needs for materials and printing for key events and initiatives.
Provide logistical support in coordinating various projects.
Collaborate on the assessment and evaluation process for key projects which may include managing data collection, data input and data analysis to be used for strategic planning and decision making; producing reports with recommendations based on feedback from campaigns.
Participate in cross-functional committees to provide information and operational support around communication.
Manage information sharing within the Community Engagement team and with other teams.
Make recommendations for improved project planning efficiency to leadership.
Proactively assess risks to the project and make recommendations to mitigate.
Track timelines, budgets and goals.

Experience and Educational Background:
o Experience managing the administration, development and implementation of a product or program. Experience in the nonprofit field preferred.
o Experience with digital document management programs such as DropBox, Google Drive, Adobe products.
o Three years of project management experience.
o An eye for detail and precision.
o Willing and able to take on a wide range of tasks and accept responsibility for all phases of a project.
o Strong organizational skills.
o Ability to maintain sense of humor under stress and stay cool.
Communication Skills:
o Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
o Desire to collaborate with a committed, professional team.
o Track record of working with diverse communities.
o A plus: Knowledge of Spanish.
o A plus: Knowledge of and experience working with PBS and the public television system.
o A plus: Previous experience in journalism, film or engagement with social issues.
Technical Skills:
o Mastery of word processing, spreadsheet, Google Docs and other online productivity software.
o Passion for creativity and innovation.
o Ability to work independently, communicate well and present yourself professionally in person, on the phone and online.
