Murfee Engineering Company (MEC) has an exciting career opportunity for a qualified Engineering Technician. The candidate for this position will be responsible for planning, designing, and performing calculations for various project types including municipal, utility, commercial, and residential. Must also be able to interact with clients, perform inspections, attend meetings, and develop plans, specifications, contract documents, and estimates. - - Education: - • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university. - • Master's Degree is preferred - - Qualifications - • EIT Certification in the State of Texas. - • Must be working toward obtaining PE license - • 0-4 years' experience in Civil Engineering design. - • Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team. - • Excellent interpersonal skills. - • Able to work well with others in a collaborative manner. - • Able to perform all functions of the job accurately and in a timely manner. - • Able to work under pressure and time constraints. - • Possesses drive and willingness to learn. - • Able to prioritize and simultaneously manage multiple projects. - • Able to use AutoCAD and Civil 3D as design tools. - - Responsibilities: - • Work closely with Project Engineers to develop detailed designs, plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates for various municipal projects. - • Perform calculations for designs, research, report drafting and compilation, alternatives analysis, cost estimations. - • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Project Engineer and Project Manager, etc. - - MEC offers an excellent benefits and compensation package including medical, dental, vision insurance, profit sharing program and 401(k) plan, paid vacation and holidays, and pre-tax health plans. - Send resumes to: mecinfo@murfee.com
